Wool is a wonderful natural fiber that has the distinction of keeping you dry yet allowing your skin to breathe.
Old world fisherman knew that their wool sweater would keep them from getting soaked despite the constant sea spray endured on long fishing trips.
To keep your wool diaper cover in great shape just follow a few simple laundering techniques.
Hand wash in cool water with a teaspoon of wool wash, after removing from the hand wash cycle of your machine or from the sink, gently roll in a dry towel to remove excess water. You may then dry flat.
Washing your wool is only necessary when soiled or after 2/3 weeks of use. There are natural anti-bacterial properties in wool that keep it fresh if allowed to dry between uses. On occasion, your wool wrap may need an extra helping of lanolin, but not very often!
To lanonlize, use spray lanolin, lanolin balm, or melt a pea sized amount of lanolin in your wool wash, and wash as usual.
Never put your wool in the dryer, and never wring out wet wool.
My wool diaper covers are made to be worn over quality fitted diapers. Check out my links page for where to buy excellent fitted cloth diapers.
Enjoy!
